Location
The Java Lounge is located on the first Floor of the Burton Building on the corner
of Duke St and Victoria St in Douglas, Isle of Man.
The Building was constructed in 1929 by Montague Burton 'the Tailor of Taste' this
moto is moulded into the South face of the building on Duke St. It was constructed
to a very high standard, testimony to which is the fact that the original Oak Parquet
floor took relativly little restoration to allow its use today.
We have tried to develop the Lounge in a style sypathetic with the building, with
extensive use of woods to match the original, with skirting boards and architraves
in the original pattern.
We have made use of ceiling fans for ventilation instead of air conditioning for
both a more energy efficient installation, and again to engender a style contemporary
to the building,
